Tungsten is an important alloying element in steel industry, which can improve the strength, hardness and corrosion resistance of steel. Tungsten carbide (tungsten carbide), high hardness, wear, corrosion and heat resistance, used in the manufacture of drill, cutting tools and high temperature resistant parts. Tungsten-copper (or tungsten-silver) alloys containing 60 ~ 90% tungsten are excellent contact materials, which can be used as keys, knife-shaped switches, circuit breakers and spot welding electrodes. Tungsten-nickel-copper alloy can be used as a shield for α and γ rays. In the rocket engine, the non-cooling nozzle made of tungsten can withstand high temperature of 3127℃ and high pressure, high thermal stress. Used as luminescent materials and X-ray cathode targets in lighting and electronics industry. It can also be used as heating body of high temperature resistance furnace. Thermocouple consisting of tungsten and tungsten-rhenium (26%) alloys, measuring temperature range from room temperature to 2835℃. Tungsten diselselenide can be used as lubricant for senior lubricating bearings, the lubrication temperature range is -217 ~ 350℃. Tungsten compound pigments have a brighter luster and are durable.
